According to the accusations, Shakira in 2011 moved to Barcelona after the officialisation of football association with football player Gerard Piqué, but she continued to maintain her residence in the Bahamas by 2015.
A Spanish judge investigating alleged tax fraud by Colombian singer Shakira recommended on Thursday that the case go to trial.
Judge Marco Juberias announced that during his three-year investigation, “sufficient criminal evidence” for the case to go to court, and Shakira now faces six counts of tax default.
Meanwhile, the singer's lawyer has indicated that during that time, the 44-year-old won most of her money in international tours and spent no more than six months a year in Europe.
