American Caeleb Dressel won his third gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, with a world record in the 100m butterfly race.

Dressel took the lead from the start and held Hungarian Christoph Millak behind to win at 49.45 seconds, breaking the record 49.50 seconds he himself placed 2 years earlier in the 2019 world.

Milan, the winner of the 200m race in this style, took the silver medal with the time of 49,68 seconds, while the bronze medal went to Swiss Noe Ponti.

Ledecki shines again, the American swimmer won the gold medal in 800m freestyle, winning the event for the third round Olympics. The strong rival, Australian Ariarne Titmus, won the silver medal, while Simona Quadarela awarded a bronze medal to Italy.
In the women's 200m backstyle race, Kaylee McKeyon made Australia win its third gold medal in all history, finishing before Canada's Kyle Masse. Australia also won the bronze medal, with other representative Emily Seebohm ranked third.

The British mixed male women's team Adam Peate broke the world record to win the 42,500m mixed style race, which was first included in the Olympics, leaving China and Australia behind. The British quarter consisting of Kathleen Dawson, Peachy, James Guy and Anna Hopkin first touched the wall by 3 min 37 seconds and 58 percent to break the previous record of 3:38.41 that was set by China in Qingdao last year. The Chinese were second with the time of 3:38.86, and Australia won the bronze, while the United States team led by Caleb Dressel did no more than fifth.

China's Lu Yunxiu won the last gold medal in Widhurfing after finishing the first race, leaving all competitors behind at the Tokyo Games. Charline Picon won the silver medal for France, while the Great Britain team with Emma Wilson won the bronze medal. This race remains in history, as discipline will no longer be included in the Olympics starting with those in Paris 2024.

Kiran Badloe won the third single gold medal for the Netherlands in the men's Widhurfing. Thomas Goyard of France won the silver medal, while China's B Kun was third, becoming the first male athlete from China to win a medal in the Sailing category.

Switzerland's Nina Christen won the women's event in the 50m positional rifle to secure her second medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Turkey's Gazoz Mete won the individual men's arched race at the Tokyo Games. At this Olympics it was the first gold medal to be won by a country other than South Korea that has secured 4 out of 5 Olympic medals in the arch in Tokyo. Gazoz defeated Italy's Mauro Nespol in the final, with a score of 6-1. He secured Turkey's first Olympic medal in the arch. Japan's Takaharu Furakava won the bronze. Furakava also won a bronze medal in the men's team race.

Alex Yee made a great finale as Great Britain won the inaugural Triathlon tournament, mixed for the first medal of the field, with their four-person team completing an excellent week for Britain that had also won two silver medals in individual competitions. The United States won silver, with 3-time world champion France in the discipline that won the bronze medal. It was an emotional triumph for Johnny Brownle who had won the individual bronze medal in 2012 and 2016 and finally secured gold that he could share with his older brother, Alistar.

The Philippines's Nesthy Peteio defeated Italian Irma Testa in the feather weight of the boxing semifinals. This means that the Philippines will win a minimum silver medal, with the Asian country reaching second gold medal at the Tokyo Games.

Spaniards Fatima Galvez and Alberto Fernandez made a major setback to win the first gold medal at the Olympics in the double-shot event, as this category is first included in the Games. The Spanish couple hit 41 out of 50 targets in the finals to win art at the Asaka range. Silver went to the team from San Marino, made up of Alessandra Peril and Gian Marco Berti targeting 40, while the United States of America won the bronze. / SS/
