Premier League Watford's football club said their new fanate's sponsor has paid in encrypted currency the fee imposed as a new fan sponsor.
The Hertfordshire Club, promoted by last season's championship, announced that the online betting company Stake had signed a <x0-record club” agreement.
Cryptoccy is a kind of digital money that doesn't have a physical shape and is traded online.
Watford Mayor Scott Duxbury said the club and sponsor have an ambitious “and commitment to innovation”.
He added that it was “an extremely exciting campaign for the club after we returned to Premier League and couldn't be happier with the sponsor.
Watford used to have Bitcoin as a club sponsor and accepted the cryptophone at the club.
The club didn't say which cryptomone the deal was made, or what it was worth in pounds.
