But the World Athletics Organization eliminated them from the race because of high testosterone levels. According to race regulations, swift runners do not meet the criteria of female racers because their testosterone levels are far higher than the acceptable border.
Memma and Masiling have competed normally so far, but the IAAF doubted after the race in Bidgosz, Poland. The bomb ran 400 feet in 48.54 seconds, which is the seventh best result in the history of this discipline. But, organisers thought this was not just about her skills, so they launched an investigation and found that Mboma had higher testosterone levels, just like her colleague Masiling.
The World Athletics Organization gave them the green light to perform in Tokyo only if they lowered testosterone levels through birth control pills, contraceptions. The Namibians refused to take the cure, and we may not see them in Tokyo, even though they qualified for the Olympics. South Africa's runner in 800m, Caster Semenia, has been struggling with the same problems for years.
