Montenegro's President Milo Djukanovic said the European Union should approve visa liberalisation for Kosovo and give additional impetus to the negotiations process with Montenegro and Serbia.
In an interview for Skopje TV21, Djukanovic said he is of the opinion that the EU should start negotiations with northern Macedonia and Albania as soon as possible.
The visa liberalisation “must be given to Kosovo and an additional impetus to the negotiations process with Montenegro and Serbia”, Djukanovic said.
He also noted that the delay in expanding the European Union, when it was the Western Balkans' turn, leaves room for the influence of third parties.
Unfortunately, those third parties are acting from platforms that are against essential European interests, and this brings additional confusion to Western Balkan countries' policies”, Djukanovic said.
According to him, we are now witnessing renewed ideas about the composition of the Western Balkans.
He added that these were the ideas from the early 1990s, when ideas forming the three major countries of the Western Balkans still functioned.
