Liverpool is reportedly ready to submit a $70m bid for Nicolo Barella, who is also a target of Manchester United.
According to a report by La Repubblica, as aired by Semper Inter, Liverpool is stepping up their efforts to sign Nicolo Barella in the passing summer term, with a formulation of a $70m offer. The 24-year-old Italian Representative is also subject to Manchester United's interest.
Nicolo Barella has become one of the most coveted midfielders in the game since she joined Inter from Calilar in the summer of 2019. Originally signed by Nezrazzurr, the new midfielder was signed permanently by the giants of Serie A.
So far, the 24-year-old has made 87 presentations for Inter Milan, marking with seven goals and 21 assistings. Its progress has always attracted the attention of some of the world's largest clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester currently in pursuit of the Italian player.
Liverpool's interest has a meaning in the world, with Reds still to replace Georginio Wiynaldum after his move to Paris Saint-Germain. While Jurgen Klopp has as many as seven midfielders available, it is important to note that Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have not proved faithful recently while James Milner is at the twilight of his career.
So, as it was in the final take of some tough lessons last season after failing to replace Dejan Lovren, it is a prudent move for Liverpool to sign a midfielder, with Barella a valuable target. On the other hand, Manchester United are the latest participants in the race to sign with 24-year-olds.
Red boys are in an uncertain situation about the future of Paul Pogba, who has been linked to a possible exit from Old Tuffford to another summer window. If the Frenchman ends up leaving this year, Manchester United will have to sign a high-class replacement with Barella, of course an option worth considering.
Another player on Manchester United radar is Eduardo Camavinga, but Chelsea's last show on his tail is forcing them to consider alternatives. However, Manchester United will have to move quickly to make ground in pursuit of Barella, with Liverpool preparing a $70m bid.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan is determined that they will no longer make large sales after Acraf Hakim's move to SPG, as they continue to try to balance their books amid a financial turmoil. However, a large offer from Liverpool could turn its head.
What remains to be seen now is whether Manchester United is willing to comply with Liverpool's offer or to surpass them completely. For now, the two most successful English clubs of all time seem to be hot on the tracks of Barella, whose stance to leave Inter Milan will also be interesting to see.
