In fact, Kosovo is the only country in the Balkans with such a number of the population that has received two Olympic gold medals, writes Periscopi.
While the success of Distria Krasniqi and Nora Gjakova is being celebrated in Kosovo, the two Judists will earn a lot of solid money -- considering what spectacular performance they made to our Republic -- each of 100 thousand euros.
Croatian media 24sata.hr has published a list of Balkan countries that reward mostly athletes for Olympic medals.
According to their report, Kosovo is in first place in terms of the athletes' reward, as it pays 100,000 euros. After our country, it came to Serbia, which pays the most for an Olympic medal of about 7,000 euros.
In Montenegro, an Olympic medal from their state for the athlete who manages to win the gold medal gets 35 thousand euros.
Bosnia and Herzegovina on the other hand shared a ridiculous sum for the Olympic medal, as the medalist receives only 2300 euros.
Croatia, on the other hand, as a country with more stable economies, does not pay more than 28,000 euros for a gold medal.
For Northern Macedonia, however, there is still no public record of how much a gold medallist can be rewarded.
