Since the first day of the Olympic Games, Kosovo has secured medals. It is Distria Krasniqi who has secured the country's first medal in the biggest sporting event.
The district is in the finals of the 48kg category in Judo, and it's safe with the medal. The one in the semifinals defeated Mongolian Urantsetseg Munkhbat. So he won with “Waza-Ari” which he made in the middle of the fight.
Kosovo is being presented at the Olympics for the second time. In Rio 2016, Majlinda Kelmendi won gold in the category of up to 50 pounds [52 kg]. Now there's also a Distria medal, but its goal of course is gold.
Kosovo is also aiming at other medals in judo, while it has already left many places behind in terms of Olympic success, though with only two turnouts. This is thanks to the success of coach Driton Kuka's students, one of the best in the world, in the state of the jungle sport.
In the final, Distria meets with Japanese Funa Tona. She was defeated by Ukrainian Dariya Bilod.
