Italy's captain Giorgio Chielini speaks of the incident with Yordi Alban in Euro 2020

Giorgio Chielliin has downplayed his incident with Yordi Alba after being charged with harassment among Spain's captain prior to Italy's victory at the penalty at the Euro 2020 semifinal.

The match went to the penalty after ending 1-1 at the extra time and during the drop of the coin to determine which end the penalty would be punished, Cillin began a discussion with Alban.

Italy's captain appeared to have mocked the Spanish defender as he pushed him to the shoulder and gave him a slight blow to the cheek.

Alba did not seem to be a big fan of Chielini's behaviour after he hesitantly embraced the 36-year-old before joining his Spanish friends.

But Chielin insists that he was only kidding Alba because he wrongly assumed that the sentences would be brought before Spanish fans.

Much more has been said than what actually happened, Chielin said in an interview for the Italian Football Federation.

‘Kur pa anën e kuqe [të medaljes], Jordi [Alba] mendoi se kjo nënkuptonte fundin e tij, por unë e tregova me shaka se nuk ishte kështu.’

Chiellini zbuloi gjithashtu se ai filloi të panikonte pasi penalltia e parë e Manuel Locatelli për Italinë u shpëtua nga Unai Simon.
‘Pas huqjes së parë, isha i dëshpëruar”, tha Chiellini.
‘Ne ndamë emocione që do të mbesin përgjithmonë dhe në fund kishte përqafime dhe ca lotë.’
