Kasper Schmeticl mocked England for the “banner coming home” saying: “Has he ever been home?”
While Denmark won the Euro in 1992, England has never triumphed in this tournament, Periscopi broadcasts.
Has he ever been home? “I mean, have they ever won it? 1966? Wasn't that the World Cup?
Well, to be honest, I haven't given any thought to what it means to stop England, more than what it would do for Denmark.
I have focused very little on England's national team.
It is what it would do for our country at home, the joy that would bring a country with only five and a half million people, be able to do so or simply compete with the nations we are competing with.
Although England begins as a favourite tonight, Schmetichel said that Gareth Southgate players will know Denmark will make it difficult for them and respect the fact that they are here with merit.
I think they respect us, they know they're facing a team that's too hard to beat and they know we'll fight to the end,” said Schmetichel.
I'm sure Gareth will make sure they don't focus on anything else. When you have a team of so many stars in the world as England, expectations will always be great. /Periscopi
