Chinese girls who had placed their third best time in the qualifying race erupted in the finals held in Tokyo Aquaatics Centre.
They led virtually the entire race as they placed the fastest swimmer. The Chinese team closed with 7 minutes, 40 seconds and 33 percent, setting a new world record and Olympic simultaneously.
The 4,200m women's freestyle is held since 1996, where the United States of America has been declared 5 times Olympic champions, while 1 times Australia was ranked third this time.
