Since July 3rd, one or more people in Hamburg have damaged eleven of the twelve installed radars, where each radar's value is about 210,000 euros, police confirmed for the BILD.
On one radar, optics were sprayed eight times.
All radars in the city were damaged. In Am Greendelberg (4 July), in Mummelmannsberg (7 July), at Mak-Brawer-Alle (12 July), at Finkenwerder Landscheedideg (14 July).
Police assume that the cause of vandalism is anger due to extremely strict speed control.
If the authors get caught, it'll be expensive.
Destruction of property could lead to five years in prison. Then there are costs to repair damaged radars and offset lost fines.
