There is an agreement between the European Commission and EU institutions from 2019, which has fallen into oblivion and can drastically change the world of cars and road transport in general.
This decision should go into effect in 2022, which means that since then, all new cars in the EU would be equipped with a limiter.
We don't mean current limitors, who, for example, limit speed to 250 km/h for German paramium models and 180 km/h for Volvo vehicles. Judging by reports, the border will be markedly lower and will depend on a number of factors.
The system will use GPS positioning data, traffic sign reading technologies, as well as road situation reports.
That means the limiter would work on all public roads from the streets of town to the highways.
The law will be implemented in EU countries and will include Great Britain. It is supposed that after its implementation, the developed world will move more strongly towards the implementation of autonomous driving systems.
Still little is known about the operating system, but it's supposed to be that a gas driver too hard will warn the system with light signals and voice signals, perhaps with a shake, and the final reaction would be automatic gas release.
