Odicukumma Kelvin Igweani, 24, was shot four times by police last week after the electric pistol strikes resulted in infectious results, officials said.
38-year-old Richard Woodcock is believed to have gone to the victim's house for help after hearing the noise of a domestic conflict. The footballer allegedly killed Woodcock, whose body was found on the floor of his building in Milton Keynes, about 50 miles [80 km] northwest of London.
The police had later come to the scene after neighbours reported terrible “trasis inside” flat.
A six-year-old seriously injured boy was found in the apartment, along with Igayan, who was shot dead by police.
Investigator David Bannister said in court that the officer had shot the young man four times after an electric slip was committed to him when the police entered the room and saw that he was carrying the baby.
“As soon as we entered Kelvin Igayan, he immediately became aggressive toward the officers. An electric pistol was fired at him but had no effect. Kelvin Igayan then took a position inside the main bedroom. After we identified ourselves as armed police, we tried to enter the bedroom. A child was heard crying along with the sound of a following physical attack. We just gained access to the bedroom. We shot at it with a firearm”.
Kelvin Igayan is suspected of murder and serious assault on a child within the address in question.
Kelvin's mental health was believed to have deteriorated in the weeks before the incident,” he said.
