The new measures will take effect three weeks before the 2021/22 edition of Premier League begins 13 August), while the team, Brentford, hosts Arsenal.
It will be the first time English football stadiums have enjoyed a full capacity since mid-March 2020, when COVID-19 blocked the entire country.
This comes at the fourth step of government guide living in the coming weeks.
Johnson said at his daily conference: “until we have come to step four, we must balance the risks”.
“We must make a careful and balanced decision. ”
But, he also warned that the pandemic “has not finished”.
The prime minister added: “We will withdraw from legal restrictions and allow people to make their decisions on how to manage the” virus.
“From the fourth step we will remove all legal restrictions that are inside and out of”.
