Alegna Ororio's Olympic blower, Alegna Osorio, has died today of injuries sustained during a exercise accident, the National Institute of Sports in Cuba reports.
The 19-year-old had been fatally hit by a hammer released by her colleagues at a sports field in Cuba in April.
“We share this severe pain with her family,” said Oswaldo Vento, president of Cuba's National Sports Institute.

Ororio was ranked fourth in the youth Olympics in Buenos Aires 2018 and had won a bronze medal at the Pan-American Championships for sub-20 years two years ago.
The teen's tragic death was marked today and at “Tokio 2020”, and Czech homazins on social networks.
