IEngland's protector and Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand, has said he was left shocked by Christian Ericksen's cardiac arrest in Denmark's Euro 2020 opening match, and thinks that the Danish star will not be able to recover football.
Ericseni had cardiac arrest at the end of the first leg of the match Saturday, and CPR was performed against him in the field by the medical team to bring him back to life, Express newspaper reports.
Denmark has confirmed that the star of Inter is in stable state of health at the hospital and that he has talked to his fellow players through video telephones.
But he continues to remain in hospital until doctors investigate his cardiac arrest.
Ferdinand, who is an analyst with the BBC team for Euro 2020, was left terrified of what happened to Ericksen and feels that Inter midfielder should focus solely on life and family rather than football.
Asked if the Danish will be able to play soccer again, Ferdinand said: “I don't think he'll play again, I have to be honest.
If I were him I wouldn't think about football, maybe. I just wish I could be healthy for my family”, he added.
