Real Madrid has named Luis Campos as their sports director despite recent interest from the Premier League Arsenal club.

It was recently reported that Campos was in talks with both European clubs, but it seems that Los Blankos has achieved his signature.

According to Turkish media, Portuguese was signed by the club immediately after the appointment of Carlo Anceplotti as manager.

Campos, who had recently been contracted with French Lille champions, will also act as adviser to Los Blancos Florentino Peres.

Campos has done a fantastic job before in Monaco and Lille, helping them attend quality signatures for the first team and the academy.

He brought like Bruno, Boubakary Soumare, Renato Sanches and Jonathan David, who formed the core of the team in the final success of Leelle in the championship.

With his arrival in Madrid, this could point to a possible change of strategy ahead, where the club could focus on the new players on large cash signatures.

Meanwhile, Campos's presence could also boost their prospects for signing the long-term goal of Kyljan Mbppe from Paris Saint-Germain due to ties to Monaco.

The 56-year-old has been credited for integrating Mbppe into the ranks of Monaco's youth, and he can play a key role in convincing the Frenchman to head for the Spanish capital.
