Osman Osmani and Rexhepi rehumed today, 23 years after the kidnapping and violent disappearance by Serb police forces

The redependence ceremony will be at 4: 00 p.m. at the Syrigana village cemetery.
From the prime minister's office have announced that “after the official announcement of families for the identification of Osman Osman and Rexhepi, families have demanded that the redependence ceremony be organised today, from 1600 in the village of Syrigana. The rehumation on the request of the family will take place exactly June 8th, which corresponds to the date of their kidnapping and violent disappearance by Serbian police forces in 1998”.
The question of mortar residue samples exhumed over the past few months has also been discussed at the meeting organised by the International Commission on Missing Persons in Belgrade, Serbia, with representatives of the Government Commission of the Republic of Kosovo for Missing Persons and Serbia's Commission for Missing Persons”, said in the media communique of the prime minister's office.
In this case, the International Commission on Missing Persons has announced five new identifications from samples sent from competent institutions in the Republic of Kosovo, which have already been sent to identification reports through DNA analysis, and the information is being reported to the families of identified persons. It has also been confirmed that samples from mortary remains exhumed this year from mass cemetery in Kizevac are already in the KNPZH labs in the identification procedures.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to the maximum commitment for handling the fate of missing persons priority, in respecting the right of families to know the fate and whereabouts of their missing family members.
