The employer, doubting that his employee was often on medical leave, employed detectives to convey.
Already on the first day of surveillance, the detectives saw the 20-year-old, instead of staying sick at home, going to a café with a friend, and returning home only in the early hours of the morning.
To be sure, the detectives followed him for two more days and discovered that he was coming out those days.
Because of this discovery, the young man was fired from his job, and in addition, his employer charged him with compensation for the employment costs of a detective in the amount of 7.983.30 euros.
The case reached the Supreme Court, which concluded that the employer has the right to seek repaying costs.
As an explanation, legal experts stated that the employer is entitled to compensation, as the employee gave cause for suspicion due to numerous work shortages.
