Europe President Nostra responds to Gervallas, Ceku for Decani Monastery

In their letter, they say the inclusion of the Decani Monastery, the files prepared by the Religious Heritage had been carefully made and with the highest standards required under the programme.

“We would like to stress that including a page on the 7 most endangered lists is not the end of the process; rather, marks the beginning of relevant consultations with all parties concerned. As a result, a comprehensive report is being prepared on the most adequate recommendation situation, which should ultimately lead to the removal of the risk faced by a designated heritage site and therefore to the removal of the page from our most endangered list. This method has been applied to all pages that are included on our list.

Since the beginning of this programme in 2013, we have selected a total of 43 heritage areas at risk in 26 European countries. Through the publication of the annual lists of the 7 most endangered countries, Europe Nostra has been acting in partnership with the EIB Institute, engaging in a positive approach by offering good offices to help find sustainable solutions for endangered countries in question. We bring together to facilitate a constructive dialogue between all relevant actors, including authorities and civil society. Our mission is to maintain the integrity and truthfulness of selected heritage areas endangered for the benefit of society as a whole. As such, our move is a majority welcome time from national and local authorities, as it offers valuable support and expert advice”.

On the other hand, they confirm the arrival of an expert delegation from Europe Nostra to Kosovo after the summer.

They also request an online meeting during June, to discuss more details.

“Sic is already shown in the letter sent on April 19, 2021 to the president and prime minister of Kosovo, a delegation consisting of experts appointed by Europe Nostra plans to visit Kosovo for talks with all interested parties. The visit will be made as soon as the epidemiological situation allows for such trips, likely after the summer. Meanwhile, we have begun organising online meetings with local and international co-ordinators. Therefore, by this means we also want to propose that you organise an online meeting with you as soon as possible during June.
