Simmons has expressed himself with a tough discurs about the EU, saying Lajcak's response is proof of EU arrogance.
According to him, the European Union has even behaved as a colonial occupation that does not accept the fact that it is no longer relevant.
“Why does the US not lead these negotiations”, he has asked.

Lajcak has said that anyone who does not trust the EU for visas “could go elsewhere”.
He did not even blame the EU for failing to withdraw visas, saying Kosovo leaders should address the states themselves that are blocking this process.
