Cardiologist Jessper Kjärgaard is convinced that Danish football star Christian Ericksen will be fully healthy again after the cardiac attack he suffered in the European Championship match against Finland on Saturday (0-1).
He said the Inter midfielder will be on foot soon, but that he will stay in the hospital for a few more days, Kosova Prees follows.
I think he'll definitely come back to his feet again. If it was a heart attack, it's a good sign that he is already aware,” said the doctor who is treating the Inter professional at the Rogospitals in Copenhagen, reports Danish broadcaster “TV2”
“We are investigating whether a cardiac arrest has led to the loss of his feelings,” The doctor explained:
The image we have now is consistent with this. More tests will be conducted and Ericksen will have to stay in hospital for a few more days.”
Heart attacks are rare among people aged 29 like Eriksen, even though athletes of these levels sometimes happen.
“There are athletes who sometimes get blood clots in their heart or have irregular heart rate. This is difficult to see, but it can be caused by strong exercises”, the medical professor said.
If there is a blood clot in the heart, it is usually caused by chest pain and other signs. There are no warning signs on the arrival.”, he added.
