After the cardiac attack was held in the match against Finland, Denmark midfielder Christian Ericksen will now undergo heart surgery.
Through an official communiqué, the Federation of Denmark, has announced that after heart tests conducted, Eriksen will now have an operation where a defiberator will be placed in his heart.
This device is necessary because of heart failure.
“Pass Ericksen has passed on various heart tests is set to have an ICF (defribilator). This device is necessary after a heart attack because of rhythm concerns. Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has been confirmed for more by local and international specialists who recommend all the same treatment. We encourage everyone to give Christian and his family peace and privacy next time”, it's written in communiques.
A defibrillator, commonly called an ICD, is a small device that monitors and regulates heart rate.
An ICD can be used to care for certain types of arithmia. A arithm is an abnormality at heart rate that can be harmful or fatal if not treated properly.
