The Kosovo Central Bank has made the decision to temporarily reduce border police.
In the BEC announcement, it becomes known that the decision was made by the CEC Executive Board.
“Bord Executive of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo at the meeting, held on 24 June 2021, has made a decision to temporarily reduce the border security of auto responsibility. This decision, taken by the BEC management, has come after reviewing the actual report of June 22nd 2021 of the Kosovo Bureau of Security on the authenticity of border security fees from auto responsibility, and has been estimated to have sufficient basis for changing the tariffs of auto-responsionary and motorcycles for travellers”, the announcement said.
Yeah. The CEC has asked the Kosovar Insurance Bureau to temporarily lower border security fees for vehicles and motorcycles for 35 percent on behalf of its members.
By this decision, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo requires the Kosovar Insurance Bureau that, on behalf of its members, the providers licensed for auto responsible security, temporarily lowers the border insurance tariffs for auto-vectory and motorcycle groups for 35 percent. It also requires that the application of new border police tariffs be applied from July 1st 2021 to December 31, 2021”, the announcement said.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government, led by Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti, on the eve of the start of summer holidays, has made a decision to pay the exiles the expenses for security police.
Finance Minister Iron Murati said at the meeting that the government will take over the police's payment from July 1st.
“Observation of the Proposal-Determination for full coverage of border security obligations by the Kosovo government for all fellow countrymen and foreigners who are subject to border police coming to Kosovo by the end of 2021. This decision paves the way for the Ministry of Finance and in co-operation with the Interior Ministry to link a memorandum with the CEC and the Kosovo Security Bureau, we take over as a government covering the cost of border police being subjected to fellow countrymen. The coverage will begin from July 1st”, Murati said.
He said this is a temporary solution, until he promised that they would commit to resolving this problem once and for all.
“This is a temporary solution, but we will commit to solving this problem once and for all and not need this coverage to be made”, Murati said.
