Hence, clinic psychologists are required from this community to treat this category. In an interview with Online Economy, Izet Sadiku, director of the Infectious Clinic, said [...]

In an interview with Online Economy, Izet Sadiku, director of the Infectious Clinic, said that according to research done with the workers of this clinic, 40% of health personnel have shown willingness to leave their jobs due to stress and isolation during the pandemic at the clinic with patients.

The “is now starting to be discussed even more than after crossing the pandemic there will be especially mental health problems, and of course this will reflect more on health personnel that have been taking care of patients with Ovid-19 months and having more pressure. A research that was done a month ago with infectious clinic workers has been found that 80% of them have shown that they have problems of both anxiety, sleep problems and about 40% of them have said that maybe it's not the place to work at the clinic anymore. This tells of a serious situation, and I think that in the future, I've thought it was working to produce special psychotherapeutic training programs for the treatment of staff that worked at the Cardi-19 clinics. We from March 13, 2020, which is 15 months and until a week ago, only had 5 days off, and most of the time we were isolated than others, and we had family meetings to keep us from carrying the virus. This is a stress that keeps you in psychological charge. And she does hers when she sees a patient you're not getting to give me help”, Sadiku added.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Kosovo has faced the Devov-19 virus, which has caused psychic fatigue in medical personnel, so Kosovo Mayor Plerat Sejdiu has said in an interview for Online Economy.

He even said that serious working conditions, lack of necessary means could affect the removal of health workers from public sectors and their departure outside Kosovo.

There are two effects that are already being recognised internationally as the side effects of the long work of medical personnel, especially those who have been taken intensively but who have been on the front line with patients of the computer. And there are psychological problems that are faced with depression, cases of psychiatric fatigue due to poor working conditions, and not managing long hours of a category work. And these will provide long-term effects, such as the departure of health workers from public sectors and generations to the departure of doctors outside Kosovo. All have been combination of serious working conditions, lack of labour and normal means of waves one behind one of the patients with Covid-19”, Sejdiu added.

He added that for the first time, he saw doctors, experienced experts crying because of their enormous workload and family isolation.

Among other things, Sejdiu says that if Kosovo faces a fourth wave of security that will also cause damage in providing services or reducing doctors.

According to him, the government and health institutions must deal more with these problems in order to engage clinic psychologists to work with health workers, or the system may suffer.

“Exceeding, overloading, mental fatigue, demoralizing all of this affects the decline of immunity which opens doors to a possible infection if the immunity fails even through vaccines. For the first time, I have seen doctors, experienced crying professionals. One because of the enormous workload and family isolation. I'm afraid that if we have a fourth wave, it's probably going to cause damage to the delivery of services or the reduction of these doctors who're going to run out of these fluids that I'm going to face. The government has done very little in this direction and I think that now is the last time health institutions have to deal with these problems and we have to intensively engage clinic psychologists and work with these health workers because the system can undergo”, he said.

Kosovo should not relax but prepare because now when the waves are often multiplied is the possibility that the risk of strain will increase at the level of delivery of health services.

“To what extent or strength will come the fourth wave. But we don't need to relax anyway and I think that institutions should mobilize and do an analysis of the concessions that have been made in the system and prepare. All the time we've been waiting for the next wave, we've said we're prepared, but now when the waves are frequently multiplied and rising is the risk of spending on the level of delivery of health services to health workers”.

Infectian Ilir Tolaj stressed that health personnel will face posttraumatic stress for a long time.

“Health Person is part of the human community, so the consequences are similar. Any pandemic or any extraordinary situation that strikes mankind after themselves leaves a stress of certain lengths and lengths. Health personnel will also face posttramatic stress for a long time”, Tolaj added to EO.

The majority of health personnel at the peak time of pandemic waves has been 100% engaged around these patients. Granted, the situation is easier now, and relaxation is welcome. The consequences are not only about the number of patients but also long - term when the pandemic is generally withdrawn, the consequences will remain. We're still in the initial stages of assessing the consequences that the pandemic has caused in mental health, and that's the responsibility of those dealing with mental health to assess the situation and take measures of”.
