Ericsen will be placed with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator in the heart, following the cardiac arrest he suffered in the field at a Euro 2020 match Saturday, the Denmark National doctor Morten Boesen confirmed.
The 29-year-old man suffered cardiac arrest in the field at the end of the first leg between Denmark and Finland at the Euro 2020 Group B opening match and returned to life with defibrillators from the national medical team. He was then sent to Riggshospital, a hospital near the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, where he has been lying since then.

Kleinfeld, who gave Ericsen medical treatment on the field, said about Funke: “around 30 seconds later, he opened his eyes and was able to speak to him directly”
