So Croatian President Zoran Milanovic declared Sunday in Bled.
Representatives of the Brdo-Brijun Process, the presidents of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic and Slovenia, Borut Pahor, held a working meeting in Bled prior to the annual meeting of the Brdo-Brijuni Process, Hina reported.
The Brdo-Brijuni initiative has shown “that it makes a lot of sense” in the last 10 years, Milanvic told reporters before meeting his colleague Pahor.
“We are here to encourage and help friends and neighbours from the Western Balkans, as rule by the former Yugoslavia plus Albania, to enter the European Union as soon as possible, if possible, because it is in the interest of all”, the Croatian president said
According to Hina, Milanovic claims it is in Slovenia's interest for Croatia to enter the Schengen zone as soon as possible, Kosovo Online forwards, Klen Kosova broadcasts.
The “is all part of a broad story in which we will do everything that is possible, first of all our government, means executive power, but also by ours, so that our neighbours become part of the community we belong to as quickly as possible, Milanovic said.
Croatia's president says he does not share the same view of all issues, but that he believes there are points that are consistent.
Pahor said that after a year and a half of the dialogue interruption, there was a particular emphasis on changes in views, but he added that because of this, the need for dialogue is even greater.
“We view the Western Balkans as a whole, and not just as individual states,” said Pahor, as reported by the Slovenian STA agency.
The Brdo-Brijun process was initiated by Croatia and Slovenia in 2013 in order to stabilise the situation in the Western Balkans through regional co-operation and resolving open issues.
Attending today's Brdo-Brioni Summit was confirmed by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and her Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq.
