The making and posting of the Self has a bad effect on psychics, scientists claim.
Posting Selphies in social media has become a practice. Whether people do so because of frustration or attention, this custom is not always harmless, since it can turn into a mental disorder, especially among young people, experts warn.
A recent study by Columbia University showed that about 70 percent of teenagers visit social networks every day. At the same time, they smoke five times more often, drink three times as often, and use marijuana twice as often.
Because of increasing the influence of the Internet on forming personality in young people, psychologists warn that such behavior may increase in a psychological problem.
In fact, revealing private information, as well as photography, leads to an increase in the secretion of dopamine, the happy hormone associated with addiction behavior, Harvard scientists say. They believe social networks are a catalyst for the increasingly lost behavior of young people who do not have the right models.
