The goalkeeper played on several extraordinary teams during this time, standing among the pillars for France at the 1998 World Cup, Periscopi broadcasts.
The bald goalie even spent time with Manchester Unitedi at the end of his career, where Alex Ferguson famously said the Frenchman was the best player in other positions than the goalkeeper.
After a very successful career, Barthez retired in 2007, but it did not take long until he returned to the sport again.
Just one bit later, Barthez turned into a professional engine driver, competing in Portche Carrera Cup France.
He secured the first podium in 2010 in é FFSA GT Championship, before securing the first victory at the FFSA series in the second Circo Narra race a year later.
His career as a racer began to take off in 2013, when he became champion in French GT, before testing himself even more in the 24-hour Le Mans race in 2014.
In 2016 he formed his own team, Panis Barthes Competition, with the objective of competing in Le Mans.
He was granted his wish in 2017, but unfortunately the team had to withdraw just three hours before the race ended after failing to overcome technical problems. /Periscope. com/
