Full letter without interference:
Your Honor,
Your organisation has nominated the Decani Monastery for the <x0 program The seven most endangered monuments in Europe” of Europe Nostra. After reviewing the corresponding panel, the Decani Monastery, we believe, is unjustly included in the final list. One of the main shortcomings of this wrong decision is the nomination phase, respectively, the content, arguments, and facts of the nominal text.
As a nominative organization, we invite you to publicly show us the sources of your findings and to explain some important details of the nominal text. In all, we invite you to answer the following questions:
Who has been the source of information for the alleged terrorist organisation attack I SIS at Decani Monastery?
Who exactly do you refer to when you mention the term <x0 local objective” and whose security institutions are based on the four alleged attacks?
What has been the source of information about your findings that building a large international highway is planned near the gates of the monastery?
Are you aware of last year's agreement reached between (the Orthodox clergy) regarding the road, which was neither designed as highway nor built?
What other sources did you build your argument to nominate the Decani Monastery?
We believe that the monastery issue and political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia are not interrelated. Can you explain to us the alleged connection to your text between these two?
Can you tell us which civil society organizations, institutions and professionals, institutions and other groups in Kosovo have you consulted on this nomination?
Have you visited the Decani Monastery to look closely at the real state during the nomination process?
Do you have sufficient information on the current situation, the security situation, constitutional, legal and institutional protection of the Decani Monastery?
Your answers will be of interest to all Kosovo citizens and beyond. We look forward to reading them.
With respect,
Hajrlla Ceku
Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports
