The same one has said he will stay in Kosovo 5 May, under his visit to the Western Balkans. Commissioner Varhely has announced Wednesday that he will visit Albania as well. This has been made known by the European Commission through a communique.
The European Commission and Austria had announced on April 20th that 651 thousand doses of vaccine “B O NTech/Pfizer” will be delivered to the region every week from early May until August.
As the communique says, vaccines have been separated from the 70m euro package, provided by the European Union.
“will travel towards the Western Balkans to deliver a clear message: We care! We care for our partners and their health workers, as well as the most endangered of the pandemic. The distribution of vaccines confirms our continued commitment to provide support, as we have since the outbreak of pandemic. Stronger together! ”, he said on the European Commission website.
Kosovo in the first contingent received 24 thousand doses of vaccine “AstraZeneca” through the COVAX programme, where the EU contributed 2.5 billion euros.
