The political and economic situation in the Balkan countries, including Albania, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro, has fostered the reshuffle of some prominent Albanian lobbyists in the US, under the umbrella of a new organisation called “American Pan Albanian Congress”, while the goal is to restore the impact Albanians had on American politics during the 1990s.
The political situation in the country has been one of the main points discussed at this meeting of Ahmeti, who has listed the achievements of Albanians in the Republic of Northern Macedonia during the rule of the Democratic Union for Integration.
High-level education, formalisation of a university and the founding of another Albanian-language university, fair and adequate representation of Albanians at all levels of state administration, representation in high state structures, national symbols, official language and others are highlighted by Ahmeti during this meeting with members of the American Pan Albanian Congress.
The other point that was discussed at this meeting was population registration, as a very important process for the country. The census of the Albanian diaspora continues with intensity, thanks to numerous appeals various structures, including authorities in the country, but also personalities from the region.
I assure you that the recording continues and I invite you to follow up with even more intensified activities in this direction. You can register every day by the end of September”, Ahmeti stressed during this meeting.
Another problem that has been discussed during this meeting has been the Albanian vote in the country, which is at the moment distributed to many political parties, while it has been said that the Republic of Northern Macedonia does not need more than two Albanian political parties because in this way Albanian votes are only divided and many processes require unification of the vote.
On the other hand, Bruno Ceka, Volnet Dervisi and Martin Vulaj, who are representatives of this convention, have said that they have not created this organization to challenge others but to cooperate with others.
The meeting lasted more than two hours, with dozens of questions from participants showing great interest in co-operation with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti.
