This means that the triron contest in La League is now more open than ever before.
This draw of Diego Simeones' team, the third in the last six matches, means Atletico returns to first place with 60 points, but now only one more than Real Madrid and two more than Barcelona, eight matches by the end of the championship.
Top 4 closes with Seville, 58 points.
Real Sociedad and Real Betis are in the qualifying area in the League of Europe, in five and six positions, up from 47 points each.
Willarreal still has hope for Europe after it ranks seventh with 46 points.
The race for survival is also tight, since the last team, Elche, is located only four points from the survival area.
