Hoxhaj: Hoti, Kurti governments failed before Serbian propaganda, image of Kosovo is being damaged

Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Enver Hoxhaj has said that Hoti and Kurti governments are failing before Serbian propaganda for cultural and religious monuments in the country.

Hoxhaj has said that since declaring independence, Serbia has been trying to create the image that Serb minority cultural and religious monuments in Kosovo are at risk, but we have prevented such assessments from prestigious institutions and we have responded with active diplomacy and support of our partners. What became impossible for years was accomplished in a short time with the arrival of Hoti and Kurti governments.

Since declaring independence, Serbia has been trying to create the image that the cultural and religious monuments of the Serb minority in Kosovo are endangered, but we have prevented such assessments from prestigious institutions and we have responded with active diplomacy and support of our partners. What became impossible for years was accomplished in a short time with the arrival of Hoti and Kurti governments.

It has been a media and diplomatic campaign promoted by Belgrade for several months regarding the position of the Serb Church in Kosovo, and the goal is very clear, except for the current government that does not understand it and has no idea how to respond.

On December 10, 2020, Europe Nostra and its partner organisation, the European Investment Bank Institute, have announced the 12 most threatened heritage sites in Europe for the 7 most endangered in 2021, after nominations were announced in June 2020. The question about both governments last year is what actions were taken to prevent this?

We expect from the current government a strategy to respond to Serbian diplomatic and propaganda campaigns against Kosovo. They must wake up to protect Kosovo's interests and not be silent before this damage that happened to Kosovo's image in Europe.
