Each club will play a regular phase of 10 matches, out of 6 currently held, with a single ranking. Based on the new format, the teams will play against 10 different opponents under a programme based on the heads of the series.

The new format proposal also extends Europe League by eight rounds, but with a single ranking of 32 participating teams. A version of the Swiss model was reused in chess tournaments.
