Athletico Madrid also stops from Betis, the most widely opened La League title ever

Atletico Madrid has taken another step back to the war for the title in La League, after stopping with a draw of 1:1 from Real Betis on Sunday on the trip, making the trifron contest more open never before. Yannick Carrasco had crossed the Athletico in the early appearance in [...]
Yannick Carrasco had passed the Athletico to the early front, before Crisitan Tello equalled the score twenty minutes later to secure Betis a point at the “Benito Villamari” stadium in Seville.
This draw of Diego Simeones' team, the third in the last six matches, means Atletico returns to first place with 60 points, but now only one more than Real Madrid and two more than Barcelona, eight matches by the end of the championship.
Bettis remains on track to qualify for the League of Europe because he is ranked sixth with 47 points, as well as Real Socidad in fifth place and one more than Willarreal.
It was the second match without Atleticos' victory, after losing to Seville in last week's match.
The meeting in Willamari was almost equal, although Altetico could win it in the last few moments.
After an invasion of Angel Correa, Carrasco used confusion in domestic defence to mark from nearest to 5th minute.
Tello, Barcelona's former promising offensive, equalled the score only 15 minutes later when it marked after a bow from Alex Moreno.
Atletico did more in the second half and could win the meeting if Correa took advantage of one of two golden opportunities at an extra time.
He denied Claudio Bravo's goal in both cases, expecting his sluggish blows from the vicinity.
Atletico hosts Eibari at the next match, while Betis visits Valentine.
