The age of retirement for men and women in Kosovo is the same: 65 years old. This does not seem to change even during the Kurti II government, which has not seen any change in this regard. Amazingly, though, there is no requirement for retirement to decline in many other parts of the world. But how many pensioners does Kosovo have?
The government Kurti II made a decision to raise for 10 euros basic pension pensions that had been 90 euros earlier.
But the same government decided not to continue extensions of 30 euros for pensioners for other months. These additions had been operating from January to March and were expected to continue taking into account that Covid-19 is mainly killing the elderly.
Between March 1st 2021 and April 21, Covid-19 has killed 506 citizens, of whom 405 were pensioners.
According to the 2011 provision, there were 1 million and 739 thousand and 825 residents in Kosovo. Of them, there were only 116 thousand and 785 pensioners. Furthermore, even the two age groups that were under the age of pensions -- 60-64 and 55-59 -- did not have a large number, with 53 thousand 58 and 65 thousand and 539, respectively.
Kosovo has also had new populations in the past decades. In 1981 there were only 65 thousand and 701 retired citizens.

165m of 815 thousand and 340 euros were given last year for basic age pensions. And so is 119m of 944 thousand and 333 euros for contributions to age pensions. So, in all, 285m euros have been paid last year for Kosovars. /Periscope
