Youth Initiative for Human Rights Serbia ( YIHR Serbia (Saturday) asked institutions and officials in Belgrade not to manipulate with the data on war victims in Kosovo, as well as to prevent the celebration of convicted war criminals.
In the community of this civil society organisation, some Serbian officials reportedly, on the occasion of the start of the NATO bombings, broke out inaccurate and incomplete information about victims at several memorial gatherings, with what general disrespect for people's lives showed.
YIHR Serbia points out that Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq on Wednesday (March 24th) said NATO had killed 2,500 civilians, soldiers and police [Serbs], while Kosovo's Foreign Ministry in its official Twitter account stated that the Yugoslav Army and Serbian police had killed more than 15,000 Albanians during the war, Telegrafi conveyed.
According to the list of victims published by the Fund for Humanitarian Law (FDH) and the Kosovo Humanitarian Law Fund ( FDH Kosovo, published in 2014, has lost its lives to 755 people, 454 civilians and 301 members of the armed forces.
