Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti, once also candidate for Kosovo prime minister, has called on the Albanian exile in northern Macedonia to register since the census, housekeeping and residences.
Kurti through a video message has requested that each citizen be registered, stressing that for the first time, the census process is likely to take place from where he lives.
“In northern Macedonia has begun the process of registering households and residences, it started on March 3rd and ends on April 21st. The census was registered 20 years after that of 2002 because the 2011 one was canceled for reasons still unknown to Gruevski's then regime. For the first time, our census process is likely to be completed by the country where it lives without being forced to take all that way and come to the country to register. The right to register has each citizen of Northern Macedonia's citizenship and is equipped with the personal number that is otherwise called the mother number. You may find your mother's number in your birth certificate, the certificate of adultery, ID, and passport. Since even with the current constitution the political rights of citizens in northern Macedonia are dictated and derived from the census numbers of each citizen is extremely important”, Kurti says in a video message.
Kurti has yet said they will place the centre of the Vetevendosje Movement in service of citizens of Northern Macedonia to assist in the process of internet registration.
“Albanians are a people connected to the country, to the land, to home and to its property. From official data from the North Macedonian People's Bank remittances amounts to up to 2 billion euros annually. We know that the overwhelming share of this money comes from the Albanian exile, because of the institutional and economic discrimination that has been exerted against Albanians there... our movement won with a powerful and wonderful participation of the exile we need to create the same enthusiasm. We will put the Centres of the Vetevendosje Movement in service of northern Macedonia citizens to assist in the internet registration process”, Kurti said among other things.
The diaspora census via online app can take place by April 21st. Entity census is expected to start April 1st and will last until April 21st.
