Serbia is aiming to become the centre of the region again and is using vaccines as a means to boost influence in the Balkans. Authorities followed Sunday with free vaculation of citizens and businessmen from the region, with Serbian Chamber of Commerce initiative.
Thousands of entrepreneurs in the region have used Serbia's call to vaccinate free of charge against coddy-19.
The vaccine campaign for regional businessmen began Saturday in Belgrade and Nis.
Serbian authorities appealed for the immunisation of any citizen from the Western Balkans who would visit the country at the weekend.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce said their call was answered by 7,500 businessmen from Albania, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even Kosovo Albanians.
Serbia is again becoming the centre of the region,” the head of the Chamber of Commerce said.
While many Balkan countries are in crisis with pandemics or are unable to provide many anti-opposed vaccines, 30 percent of Serbs have received the first dose, mainly Russian-made vaccines, “Sputnik-V”, Chinese vaccines from “Sinopharm” or production of “Pfizer” and “AstraZeneca”.
Serbia has confirmed more than 5,100 victims of the individual (19, but in the balance per capita, the country has managed the situation better compared to the countries of the region, even better than Albania.
