EU 13m euros for Western Balkans for Coping With COVID pandemic-19

It will contribute to efforts imposed by the 17 member states -- Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania, Spain and the three countries towards membership Albania, Montenegro and Serbia to protect public health in the fight against corruption.
This funding will support part of their public spending on medical and personal protection equipment, emergency support for the population and measures of prevention, monitoring and controlling the spread of the disease.
Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Eliza Ferreira said that”The EU Solidarity Fund is a concrete demonstration of European solidarity in action. The proposed aid package today also includes 132.7m euros in advance already received from Germany, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Hungary and Portugal.
Mobilising EUSF's final payments to the 17 member states is based on a full assessment of the submitted applications, ensuring stability in the approach and equal treatment, writes ATS.
The financial contribution proposed by the Commission must now be approved by the European Parliament and the Council. Financial assistance will be available for applicant countries.
