Greek singer Elena Tsagrinou will present the country with the “dance-y pop “El Diablo” (boy).
According to the Eurovision Web site, the lyrics have to do with <x0 in love with someone, as bad as El Diablo. ”
The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus issued a harsh statement on the controversial creation, saying it felt “deep disappointment” against Cyprus's national television for their selection of Mahx2> song.
This song promotes global ridicule by acknowledging our surrender to the devil and promoting his worship in a fatalistic submission to the power of the devil”
While 17-year-old singer Tsagrinou told CNN: El Diablo is an allegory song for a girl out of a bad relationship.
But by rejecting metaphoral interpretations, the Church said that song lyricities are unacceptable and in full opposition to the values of Cypriot society”
