The mother of a 22-month-old boy who was killed by her boyfriend while he was in the wig.
Jonathan Simpson, 25, was sentenced for minimum 19 years after being convicted of killing young Jacob Marshall, who was found severely injured at his mother's home in Speke, Liverpool, writes the DailyMail, broadcast the Kosovo Clan.
Jacob was taken to the hospital after emergency services were called home on July 12, 2019, but he died the next day.
The court heard he had some injuries on his body and a fatal head injury.
Today Jacob's mother, Emma Marshall, wept as she read an exciting statement at the Court, saying that when her son was born in September 2017, she was the happiest day of her life.
She described the baby as a happy little boy who made him laugh, adding: “He always had the biggest smile you could ever have seen”
The mother of two children said the decision to leave Jacob under Simpson's care while she went out to cut her hair was something she'd regret for the rest of her life.
In a statement to the victim, she told the court: “He wanted to watch Disney movies, even if he couldn't choose who he wanted to see. He was looking for juice and some candy forever. His son enjoyed his food, and he would even eat his brother if he did not finish the tea. He had the most amazing relationship with his brother and anyone who came in contact because he was such a happy little boy”.
I will regret leaving Jacob with Jonathan Simpson for the rest of my life”
Emma cried as she told the court that on July 12, 2019, her life changed forever.
She said: I was in the wigger doing my hair, which I didn't do very often when I got a call from my sister saying I had to go to the hospital right away. I didn't understand the seriousness of Yacob's condition after Jonathan told me that something had happened he had weakened this whole thing. When I arrived at the hospital, I realized how serious Jacob's condition was after he was rushed to surgery”.
She added: I didn't know what was going on in surgery was unbearable, all I wanted was an answer to how they would make it better”.
In a statement that was read in court, Jacob's grandmother Christine Parkinson described Simpson as a monster.
She said: “Jonathan Simpson took our son and we're just broken from the heart. He was a little boy so innocent, with his whole life before”
