After an urgent meeting of the National Security Council in Belgrade, Defence Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said they had a lead discussion.
The most important theme of our meeting was the current situation on Kosovo and Metohija territory where we have a complex security situation. This is political and security. Of course we talked about what our state institutions are doing to maintain stability in our southern province. First of all, we want to protect the Serb population there”, the Serbian Army's political leader said, Klan Kosova reports.
Meanwhile, the next topic of particular importance from the Council meeting was a letter that was made public Sunday, which dates February 5th.
In it the president of the United States of America, Joe Biden congratulates Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vuciq 15 February on Serbia's citizenship day.
And at the next passage, it mentions the condition for normalisation in the region and Europe. Kosovo and Serbia must comply with mutual recognition.
” saw some letter congratulations for the citizenship day. The large number of politicians in our southern province are enjoying these” letters, Stefanovic added.
President Vuciq himself said on Sunday that he has made it clear since Washington on September 4th 2020, and the same is true of Beden, ” I am not planning to accept Kosovo independence”, he said.
