France has drastically changed its priorities for transport, since new works at the airport are now to be forwarded by electrical or hydrogen aircraft.
Minister for Ecology Barbara Pompili has told the daily Le Monde that the project is now “-year-old”.
We'll always need planes, but we have to move away with the most reasonable use of air traffic and reduce greenhouse gas emissions”, she said.
Julien Bayou, leader of the Green Party in France, has said that this is a big <x0fit for environmentalists” against what he considered “Idiot project”.
The airport, Charles de Gaulle, which opened in 1974, is the second most circulation airport after that Heathrow of London.
In 2019, more than 76 million passengers have passed into French airport.
