Reds failed to win the third consecutive victory and draw even closer to the leader after being surprised by Brighton.
The first part of the match was marked by equal play by both teams, but no very clear cases of note.
Mohammed Salah (30) for locals and Dan Burn (25) for guests had their own cases, but the figures remained unchanged in the first half.
In the second part, there were still more demanding and more random Reds, but Brighton was able to surprise.
Steven Alzatte (56) scored for 0-1 by sending his team ahead after the Liandro Trosard assistance.
After this agreed goal, Liverpool went all on the offensive, taking risks several times, but without finding the goal and finally the match closed 0-1.
With this loss, Reds remain in fourth place with 40 points, while Brighton takes the 15th place with 24 points.
