At the arrival of the Olympic rate “Pejin 2022”, Arby Pupovci fulfilled the whole family's dream.

Arby Pupovci is the first athlete from our country to ensure an Olympic rate for the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. The 20-year-old Peja collected sufficient scores of the International Skiing Federation (FIS) to win the Olympic rate in the Alpen Ski slalom discipline. To earn the rate in this discipline, it took five results by less than 160 points in a race.
Pupovci received the fifth score last week in Pamporovo, Bulgaria, where he even climbed the podium as the third country. He took part in Borovets, Bulgaria, in Kolashin, Montenegro, as well as in Turkey's Erzurum. Besides Pamporovo, the bronze medal was won in Erzurum in December last year.
It's a very good feeling. I am so happy that I reached that goal. It was not easy, since you had to compete and repeat the results. Also in Borovets, conditions were extremely difficult, while in Pamporovo better”, Pupovci says of the Kosovo Olympic Committee.
Arby comes from a family that has devoted nearly all her life to the winter sport. It's the third child. His father is Agim Pupovci, Kosovo's selective skier. Arby's brothers are Taulanti, Dardan, and Erdeate, and the sister Arba, who accompanied her to several international races this year.
The two older brothers, Taulanti and Dardan, assist Arby in the quality of the trainers.
The arrival of the Olympic rate has been the dream of the entire family, so they and all my supporters dedicated this success to”, says Paja Club contestant Alpin.

The next Arbin mission is the world championship, which of February 8-21, 2021, is held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, which in 2026 will host the Winter Olympics.
The world's “aims to qualify for the main race in both disciplines, slalom and large slalom. If I do, then I hope it gets into the 50th ball, which would be a success of”.
Worldwide, Albin Tahiri and Fiona Blaka Rusta will also attend.
Tahiri had represented Kosovo at the PyongChang 2018 Winter Olympics in all five alpine skiing disciplines. He too is competing to earn the rate.
Kosovo's Olympic team cannot participate in the Olympics with two contestants of the same discipline. This can only happen if any of our skiers are on a 30-foot ball in discipline. “Since Arby has secured the rate, Albin goes into other discipline”, said selective Agim Pupovci.
Tahiri is expected to win the Olympic rate in all five disciplines, but in the Olympics he will likely compete in the fastest disciplines such as super slalom, launch and alpine combination.
Pupovci, along with the slalom, has to earn the rate in large slalom, where it also takes five scores below 160.
Fiona Blaka Rusta and Kianna Kryeziu are also looking for the Olympic Norm in the slalom and huge slalom disciplines, but with results still far away.
Arby, Albini and Fiona are KOK stockers for LOD Beijing 2022. They receive a scholarship from November 2019.
“Bursa has been a great help to me, especially in preparation, exercise, travel, etc.”, declares Pupovci, who has started training in skiing since age 4.
The Winter Olympics are held from February 4th to February 20, 2022, in Beijing, China.
