Izmir Smajlaj, contestants in the long jump category, closed the competition by jumping at 7.91m length to climb the highest level of the podium, causing Albanian anthems to be heard again in Belgrade.
Smajlaj himself has not concealed his satisfaction with this success, which will no doubt be a boost to the Albanian champion who, like any other athlete worldwide, has the greatest attention to the Tokyo Olympics as the most important sports event.
