The Specialised Chambers in The Hague are being heard as a defence witness, Kyle Gashi, who is a member of the Steering Council of the KLA War Veterans Organisation. At the trial hearing of Hysni Gacatit and Nasim Haradinaj, he has said that in packages they had arrived at OVL-KLA there were documents in Serbian language and Serbian names, including Vukovic. Gashi has stated that with their publication they have been aiming to inform the public that Serbia is giving information to the Special Court.
In his written statement, which read the defence, Gashi has said on September 7th that he was with Hysni Gucatin, Nasim Haradinaj and Faton Klink in OVL headquarters- KLA in Pristina when around 10:00 someone had brought in package documents.
“The scene was a lot of investigators, some said that the package was a bomb, and that caused panic, but when Nasim went to look at us we realized that only paper was in the package, as soon as such a situation was understood, it calmed”, he said in his written statement.
He has said he has partially watched the documents and has seen many of them being in Serbian and containing Serbian names.
“These documents were written in Serbian language, including Serbian names like Vukovic, I did not know that name, however, I have seen that name many times because it was mentioned in many documents”, Gashi said.
According to Gashi, the public in Kosovo should have been informed about the content of packages since an unknown person had been sent to OVL-UCK.
“Looking at the package of documents I wondered how the SPS could fall to Serbia's level, I was confused about the purpose of the reason the documents were brought in. We thought that the Kosovo public should be informed about the contents of the package since it would undermine Kosovo's Specialised Chambers. ( D It's an organ that we don't know as legitimate. We didn't want to give names just to show the public that Serbia has given The Hague” information, Gashi said in his written statement.
Gashi has said he has not read all the documents that had arrived on 7 September on OVL- The KLA, since it held that their number was large.
Cele Gashi's testimony comes after yesterday in Specialised Chambers four defence witnesses have been heard in the trial against former OVL-KLA leaders.
Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj were arrested on 25 September 2020, since they are even staying in custody at The Hague.
The flow of documents from the Special, which by a still unknown person have been sent to O'O offices VL- The KLA, and publicisation of this event by the leaders of the organisation, is the reason Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj are being tried.
On them are charges of criminal acts against administration of justice, namely obstructing official persons in performing official duties, fearing witnesses, revenge, and violating the secret of the procedure.
